Planning the World’s First Biochar Repository

Reversing climate change and restoring eco systems.

Our efforts to create a Biochar Carbon Removal (BCR) value chain with triple impact are gaining momentum. More and more discover the potential of the value chain we are building, that:

·      Removes Carbon.

·      Reduces methane emissions.

·      Restores land.

Our carbon removal credit will enable our clients to claim contributions towards multiple SDGs.

On the ground in Kenya, examining a potential site for the world’s first biochar repository. The creation of a permanent carbon sink would also lead to eco-restoration of land previously used for quarrying. Biochar is sequestered in deep biochar repositories to enable fast scaling of biochar carbon sinks, maximise storage durability and to speed up a vegetative recovery.

Discussing the potential for collaboration on biochar with eco restoration experts in Kenya. The Haller Park was once an exhausted quarry. It has now been transformed into an ecological area. Haller Park holds a variety of plant and animal species which serve as a recreation spot for tourists and locals.

Discussion with partners on biochar production site. Evaluating system integration and finance options.

Exploring opportunities with NEMA -Kenya’s National environmental authority. Project meeting about project licensing/permits and international and national developments in the carbon finance space.
